Leadership Driven Organisations

Today, there is a trend of Leadership driven organisations.
What is the difference between Leader driven organisation and Manager driven organisation?
It’s the direction.
In Manager driven organisations, the ideas and decisions comes from the top. Middle and bottom level people are expected to convert them into action in a most efficient way.
In a Leader driven organisation, the thoughts, ideas comes from the bottom, reaches the top and steered back by the top with endorsements, negotiations and acceptance. Here, all level people are included right from brainstorming and decision levels.
Both methods have their own merits and demerits.
Currently, most organisations are in the first type.
Which means that we are getting faster success. If we want to sustain at this level, than the going is perfect. However, if we have plans for further huge growth, then the vehicle that brought us up to here may not take us further. In that case we have to shift to Leader driven organisation. It will be a big change.
What do we need to do if we want this change?
1. Hire people who are having entrepreneur mindset
2. Involve them at very early stage of brainstorming and decision making
3. This has to be done at all levels. Which means that SOs shares the ideas with AMs, AMs share with RM and ZMs and finally reaches to MD. MD endorses it and asks for implementation.
4. In meetings, higher level people don’t speak or order. They encourage people to talk. The seniors listen very carefully. Then they steer the direction, convince people and give final decision.
The world is changing fast. We too need to change to keep pace with it.
